Women and Child Welfare

JANANI JANSHAKTI SANGATHAN is committed to promoting the dignity, safety, health, education, and socio-economic empowerment of women and the holistic growth, protection, and development of children. Through our Women and Child Welfare Project, we seek to create an inclusive society where every woman and every child enjoys equal opportunities, protection of their rights, and access to essential services without discrimination. These objectives are aligned with widely recognized principles of women and child development and protection in India.

The project aims to:

  • Promote gender equality and the empowerment of women.
  • Safeguard the rights, dignity, and welfare of women and children.
  • Improve maternal, new born, child, and adolescent health and nutrition.
  • Encourage education, literacy, and life-skills development for girls and children.
  • Prevent child labour, child marriage, child abuse, neglect, exploitation, trafficking, and all forms of violence against women and children.
  • Promote awareness of legal rights, constitutional protections, and government welfare schemes.
  • Strengthen families and communities through counselling, guidance, and capacity-building programmes.
  • Support sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion for women from economically weaker sections.

To achieve these objectives, our organisation undertakes programmes including:

  • Women's education and literacy campaigns.
  • Vocational training, skill development, entrepreneurship, and self-employment initiatives.
  • Formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
  • Maternal and child healthcare awareness programmes.
  • Nutrition and food security initiatives for women and children.
  • Scholarships, educational assistance, and school support for underprivileged children.
  • Child protection, rehabilitation, counselling, and family support services.
  • Legal awareness programmes relating to women's and children's rights.
  • Campaigns against domestic violence, child marriage, trafficking, gender discrimination, and substance abuse.
  • Awareness on menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, and adolescent development.
  • Distribution of educational materials, clothing, nutrition kits, hygiene kits, and other humanitarian assistance to needy beneficiaries.
  • Community awareness programmes, seminars, workshops, conferences, and outreach campaigns.
  • Emergency relief and rehabilitation support for women and children affected by disasters or humanitarian crises.

For effective implementation of its programmes, JANANI JANSHAKTI SANGATHAN welcomes collaboration with Government Departments, educational institutions, hospitals, Child Welfare Committees, Women's Commissions, legal service institutions, corporate entities, charitable trusts, development agencies, research institutions, community-based organisations, and other stakeholders, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
